Dark purple hues suggest a rich and concentrated core of black currant, dried blueberry, beef bouillon, pumpernickel, and plum reduction sauce.  The palate offers nuanced depth with its round yet vibrant complexity; roasted coffee, bay leaf, fennel pollen, and bright acid which gives the wine wonderful length.  Best decanted when young to allow all the layers to unfold, yet worthy of 15+ years in the cellar.
